I purchased a 5GB SAIX local only and 10GB IS local only account last month and I see I'm being billed for it a second time this month because my account reflects -R165 (R95 SAIX + R70 IS). Is there any way to just purchase the accounts once off and not have it bill you every month?

I'm not sure about IS local only but you do with the SAIX flavour.

I see a prepaid option there but no mention of whether it's AIX or IS, I'll take your word for it that it's SAIX. :)

WA, could you please be a bit more descriptive about these prepaid local accounts so we know what we're buying.

Just as an aside the Axxess SAIX local only is a few rand cheaper per gb. Why not pick and mix your ISPs?

The page http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl/prepaid/ isn't too clear with regard to saix or IS however at the top it does state, although not so visible, "The prices for these ADSL offerings are subject to change and are dependent on the pricing structure employed by Telkom/SAIX.".

You can also tell by the price of the packages, R19 for a SAIX local only gig and R70 for a SAIX shaped gig.

With regard to axxess, I'm currently using them and have no problems so far; instant setup, dsl managfement console, great support, cheaper prices.

Pre-paid accounts are once-off. If you take the monthly account, just request the isp to terminate the account at the month so you won't be billed for the next month.

webafrica should add a 'once off' option for all accounts

.....eg local only IS accounts, in last 3 days of month i buy a account but dont want it running again next month, then have to press remove account, wait for one of the WA ppl to cancel it, and they dont always do it quickly takes few days, so the account runs again for the next month :(

Yip, other than buying a prepaid account, I think I'm gonna have to do it this way from now on. I just assumed that because prepaid accounts are once off, it works the same with other accounts, guess I'll have to fork out the R165 for my mistake. :(
