Been something of a challenge with my 4MB capped line at Web Africa. The connection has slow at best. Often showing 2.5MB on Ookla. This has been the case for the last week or so.
Thing is I've had an eye opener in that all along I've accepted a service that has been running at about 2 to 3MB at best when the line can in fact run at higher rates. How do I know, read on.
I replaced the router after a discussion with one of the techs led me to believe that's where the issue could be at the start of the long weekend. While setting up the new router the tech explained the test using the telkom guest login settings and use of http://capetown.spdtst.saix.net/ to test.
So my line gets 3.80MB via that (saix) test but keeps dropping to around 2.40MB with no resolving of site loading when using my Web Africa account. Almost nothing loads.
Thing is I've never really gotten much higher than 3MB with this deal. So all along I've paid for a service that I have not received the benefits of.
Currently it so slow again that no websites load even though Ookla and saix tests show 2.4MB
Very peeved.
