Can someone from Web Africa please provide me with a phone number that will be answered by a qualified billing person or an email address as I’ve spend hours chatting with agents, then being transferred and then waiting on the whatsapp line numerous times just to be disconnected at 9pm when the whatsapp agents go offline. This has been going on for the entirety of March 2022 as well as today, 2 April 2022, to no avail. Most of the times when initiating a whatsapp conversation, let’s say at 2pm, there will be no response from an agent until 9pm at night when the whatsapp line goes offline. Early in the morning, after 15 hours I would see an agent finally answering me, but then I am usually in a work meeting.
I gave a calendar months notice at the end of January 2022 because I sold my house. February was my last active month and my services was stopped at the end if February which was as intended as I moved into my new home 1 March. I then noticed that Web Africa still charged me R899 for March 2022, although there was no service active at my sold house for March 2022. I returned my Web Africa router on March 18, 2 days before the cut-off date. I have a slip I received as proof I handed in my router. I still haven’t heard anything about my refund?
It gets better. The day I handed in my router it seems Web Africa’s internal billing system must have glitched and ordered a new Vumatel fiber service at my old house using a dormant email address/account which I haven’t used in years. Luckily the credit card linked to that account has expired in 2019 so money could not be taken from me. Web Africa even dispatched a router to my old house but luckily I told the new owners of the house I sold to not accept the package.
My new account was subsequently suspended for non payment. One of the many whatsapp agents event suggested I cancel the account to which I replied that if I cancel the account, it means there will be clawback fees and it will affect my credit score and it will seem like I ordered the package. They can check their logs, the POST request that ordered the services originated from an internal system IP not from my IP. I didn’t order the service, I want nothing to do with the services, I want it to “go away”. The billing/order glitch has to be rectified.
I don’t owe any money to web africa, they need to refund my R899 as per my first issue.
