Yeah bit of a tricky one because some clients complain that they want to order at October prices.

Trying to run dual pricing was proving a headache so there it is ;p
 
Is there no longer going to be a pre-paid option ? @ R75/Gig like the original announcement.
 
Erm, quite simple actually, get an app called RASPPPoE, Using two network cards. Then create a script that routes intl over eth1 and local over eth2.
 
There will be a prepaid option, however we are still in the process of implementing it. Unfortunately something such as prepaid, and especially if you want to "get it right", is a complex thing and requires a fair deal of thought and planning.

Once the system is in place we will inform all our users - we are planning to get it up and running by November 1st.
 
updated, but not sweet enough compared to SAOL's pricing. Looking at the 10GB is R349 vs R570 is not rocket science. Can we get a kickback warichard?

Well, that 10GB for R349 is not directly comparable to our service. If you were comparing apples to apples you would be comparing their 10GB premium service to ours (4 concurrent sessions, 5 mailboxes), which ends up being more expensive.
 
Warichard / Wamatt. I am a little confused by your notice on the web page regarding prepaid data. I am hoping to get the 5GB shaped account and 1GB unshaped prepaid on a separate username, so that i can choose which bandwidth to use depending on what i am doing at the time. will this be possible?

From your FAQ
"Can I mix prepaid and fixed-cap?
Yes this is in fact encouraged. You may purchase any amount of "prepaid". These gigabytes will be automatically used if you go over your fixed cap."
 
Sure, you can have two separate accounts if you want. There is no way you can mix and match shaped and unshaped bandwidth on the same account (therefore you would *have* to get two accounts to do this), but you can effectively have your "prepaid only" account (which costs nothing other than the bandwidth you buy) set to unshaped and use that to top up on.

The mixing and matching of prepaid and fixed-cap services is but one option, and is a pretty attractive option for a lot of users, as they can buy a certain amount of fixed-cap GB's (at less than the per GB rate), and then top up with any additional as they require.

In short... or is that in long... yes, yes you can do what you propose.

I guess this is one small positive from 1/11, at least one can get an "affordable" amount of unshaped bandwidth for voiping.
