OK, So I left Afrihost and subscribed to WebAfrica.
I left DSTV, and when the Roku route.
On an uncapped WebAfrica account suddenly I have buffering, cannot watch games/shows.
Then I check my "Status", seems they actually do throttle uncapped accounts:mad:
If Webafrica thinks that steaming content is a reason for limiting a "uncapped" account, well then I have canceled and looking for a new ISP.

Any recommendations?

I don't think streaming and uncapped can be used in the same sentence. Best bet is to get a capped account for streaming needs. IMHO VOX fat pipe is the best.

Of course it can, just get the right account for your needs. If you need to download a lot during the day then home uncapped isn't for you.

I use Web Africa Business uncapped and perfectly fine.

Do you do other things besides streaming during the day?

If you download steam games or torrents rather keep those for midnight so they don't affect your rating.

And lastly they don't throttle. They shape.

My IS uncapped account from Incredible disagrees.

Get the Incredible Connection uncapped account. No throttling between 5pm-8am and on weekends. For weekday daytime use you will have to get a small capped account.

Well you guys are lucky. I've tried most uncapped accounts, home and business and I always get issues streaming in the day. What line speed do you have?

If you read his post correctly you'll see he says you need a capped account during the day with that Incredible account.

Was the Business account you tried Afrihost? Afrihost isn't the best for streaming.

Agreed they shape, but when I get a limited throughput, it is a massive fail, I have removed all my wife's torrent's on her machine, but on such an expensive uncapped, to be "Shaped" is not on.

We do no gaming, no downloads of xyz

We only use the Roku

Their calculation data usage seems incorrect!!!!

anyway thread closed

my cancellation is confirmed

recommendations?

WebAfrica or Crystal Web capped if you want 24x7 streaming.

The price gap to business uncapped is pretty crazy, but you get what you pay for.

I'm moving to crystal web premium uncapped which is a happy medium and doesn't make use of the star system.

I quoted his first post... I didn't read his second post as I replied from my phone and probably missed it while I was typing. But he is correct, that's a good option. And Ive tried Afrihost, Webafrica, Mweb and OW (I know I can't count OW at all). It's just that for me personally the capped option is the best especially for the day time. But I hear that crystal web is good OP. I might try them after my capped data is up.

I guest it is my lot in life, it is a home uncapped, and currently the Roku displays its screen saver.
all I can say is my speed test is worse then Helkom
currently getting 3mps on a 10m line, worst is when i change log in to my company account, getting 8.6mps.

So sorry, another customer leaves.

If your speed tests are bad then it's not the account. Have you tested some of the other ISP free accounts?

Well after some research I think I am with you. Even if a bit more of a cost.

We only used the Roku outside of business hours with Web Africa uncapped account. I was shocked to see some of their data calculations. Today, the wife was basic emails and a bit of news reading. I did some remote support for about an hour. We have not switched on the Roku yet and this is our data usage for today. There has to be something wrong with their data calculations IMHO. Previously we had a 60GB capped with 120 capped Late night, a bit of Roku watching slaughtered 60GB in 14 days :wtf:

Anyway, Crystal Web it is.

Thanks to everyone on these forums that contribute good information, you create such a brilliant repository of information for this ID10T guy.

Edit;

PS the little Staffy (24 kg puppy) is fine after the bee sting, cortisone shot with an antihistamine shot FYI.
Pity he was too fine and took me out on a spiral staircase two days later, 11 stitches and concussion still today.
Bloody little ****e

I've been on it for a couple days now and extremely happy so far. The fact that I don't need to micromanage my usage is really freeing.

Good luck!

Kool, looking forward to it at the end of the month. now just looking for sport again on the Roku since Wowtv.sx was scrapped. found one but think I wil save that till the new PL Season.

Cheers
