Hi guys

I want to find out from you guys (from freelancers and guys who have done this at their company) how much is it or how much would you charge (estimate) to develop such a system, I know it depends on alot of things and features etc I understand that but how much does it cost roughly?. And what technology and languages was used ( eg php and mysql) to develop such a system and database in terms of the systems that you developed or took part in creating and what are advantages and disadvantages of building such a system on Microsoft vs free/open source(php and mysql) ?

Thanks

Lots of monies. Actual requirements other than a MIS system?

Why not use an existing solution and charge out for maintainence and changes?

I understand it's alot of money but how much is alot of money? And about an existing system what would you recommend? And what if someone wants you to develop one for them etc what then? I just want to know an estimate more or less

We have a web-based MIS / dashboarding tool in beta at the moment. Can read from ADO, OLE, ODBC or HTTP (api / web services) datasources and you can configure the layouts to your heart's content.

Seeing as it's still in beta, pricing isn't fixed yet, but it's based on a SaaS model. Cost ranges from R2,500 - R10,000 per month, depending on the size and complexity of the implementation.

How much would it cost to build a car? Between R20000 and R10mil

Unfortunately you will have to provide a lot more info. Every function and the design will play a part in pricing. The functions will also play a major part in selecting the platform to build the system in.

For example, enterprise grade I would not go with anything but sharepoint, but sharepoint developers don't come cheap.
