Web Browser Usage stats for October 2011

It's interesting when one considers that IE is still the default browser for many corporates, and people who would normally use browsers like Opera are forced into inferior products.

I use chrome at home. But at work IE7 is the only browser of choice, this due to web-accessed databases, it's painful.

Interestingly and my office they use IE only for intranet sites and Chrome for external sites.

:) I now use Chrome as my main browser and FireFox as a back-up.

Safari #3. IE for testing purposes only.

These sort of articles are very good. Packed with plenty info presented in an understandable way. Well done to who ever wrote the article.

Posted using Opera Mini

I've steadily seen an increase in our corporate clients allowing their users to use Chrome as a secondary browser and IE as their default browser.

The main thing why IE is still being forced down on corporate users is that a lot of their internal applications are web based and were developed for IE so they don't work properly in other browsers.

For me one of the great things about Chrome is that it uses IE's proxy settings, where Firefox uses it's own settings which are nearly impossible to manage through group policies.

I have been using Opera for yonks, but I have had to set it to identify it as FireFox on a lot of sites because of browser sniffing redirects to mobile stylesheets... so I guess I will be counted as a FireFox user here on MyBB because of this too.

I've got that stupid 'Google Custom Search' thing on Chrome ... so I won't use it :/

At home it's FF 99% of the time. At work it's 95% of the time with IE8 the rest for those sites which seem to give preference to IE browsers.

Chrome at home and at work. Used Firefox before, but it was terribly low like IE. Chrome will be the top browser in the next 3 months.
watch this space.

Firefox is my browser of choice. The only problem I have with it is FTP Uploads, it's pretty much useless for that.
I'm not a huge fan of Chrome, since it operates in a slightly "less conventional" way, it looks pretty cool though.

I try and avoid IE at all costs since it has a higher risk of being hijacked by Malware.

So basically, Firefox and SmartFTP do everything I need.

I only use Firefox! The only reason that IE is still being used is because of people that dont know any better.

Corporates shouldn't block users to use other than IE. You can even mask opera as Firefox or IE for some compatibility issues. Chrome is my second choice.

With Opera you can even sync with you Opera mobile which is by far the best thing! :D

Only Chrome here. Those apps give my browser the same feel as my android phone... ;-)
