The role of Website Coordinator is to oversee the implementation and maintenance of all content for IkamvaYouth’s main website and resource portal site and to ensure a clean and sophisticated online user experience. The role also includes maintaining comprehensive databases to support the logistics and delivery of tutoring, training, and other activities. Reports to Community collaboration Manager and Communications coordinator. Based in Cape Town

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate, load and manage the web content for IkamvaYouth’s main website www.ikamvayouth.org and www.ikamvayouthzone.org resource portal website including; research; publishing and sourcing resources, events, opportunities, stories; utilising metadata and search engine analytics; moderating content; administering user permissions.
  • Develop and implement a user-friendly tagging structure and uploading process for both websites.
  • Maintain administrative systems to order and archive online content
  • Maintain the web design of the two IkamvaYouth sites; themes, layout, navigation etc.
  • Identify, fix and report bugs
  • Perform other website support, marketing duties and responsibilities as required
  • Create, maintain and use comprehensive databases of contacts and information e.g. workshop partners, learning resources, service providers, volunteers etc.
  • Manage database for volunteer applications and information to ensure efficient and effective coordination of IkamvaYouth volunteers.
  • Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to develop social networking strategies to enhance use of and engagement with both websites.
  • Assist with the logistics for training and support events in Western Cape and Gauteng.
  • Ensure that timeous, professional invitations, agendas, and follow-up notes/highlights/reports are sent out to all relevant parties regarding CCP training and support events.
  • Complete administrative tasks; meeting schedules, minute-taking, travel logistics, event logistics, maintenance of mailing lists.

Requirements:
  • Must be familiar with CSS/HTML
  • Experience working with Content Management Systems
  • Excellent WordPress knowledge and skills
  • Basic SEO knowledge a plus
  • Minimum of a three year degree
  • Exceptional communication skills; written and verbal to engage with a diverse range of audiences and produce quality content for both website platforms
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly organised and efficient with exceptional logistical management skills
  • Ability to work alone, take initiative, and problem solve
  • A pro-active energy and an outgoing personality
  • Fluent and proficient in English
