Web Developer Roadmap - 2017

Why?
"Python powered [insert famous websites]"

You're about as ignorant as Thor saying Larry Ellison really owned AWS.

You made the remark against the languages not me. I merely pointed extremely high traffic/volume websites using these languages you mentioned.

When you have an application processing 540 billion requests a month, sharing 1.2 million photos a second then you can make the claim how good a language is. Until then, why don't you go and drag and drop some more ML :crylaugh:

Really?
Lol backend with PHP but no ASP.NET
What was the remark against the language?

Lol ASP.NET backend
Cos Python is so much better
He made a jest and I replied back.

So like I said, you're clearly feeling it somewhere?

Dude, lol, everyone can see from the tone of your post at your utter disgust that PHP was mentioned and the holy ASP.NET wasn't.

Feeling it? Feeling what exactly? Lol.

Digust? Seriously?

Maybe "lol" at beginning at beginning of a sentence sets the tone for digust these days.

It's okay man, I'll do the PR for you and add ASP.NET. Will that dry up your tears and make you feel better? :crylaugh:

Its okay, I've created a PR will fill it out tonight for you and we can push the commit button together.

Anyways, I have work to do.

Is your daily quota for time spent in pointless arguments all used up now?

Yes and you seem to have missed: pylons, flask, turbogears, web2py, zope2 etc..

Python Powered:

YouTube,
Google,
Quora,
Bitly,
Reddit

So yeah, ignorant comment is ignorant.
Also runs our ERP system and also runs ERPNEXT which I luv!

I like PHP for rapid and/or cheap dev but I do enjoy C# and similar MS stuff because of the time and money they have invested in their frameworks. I know there are a lot of free/open source alternatives but sometimes they seem lacking in everything they provide.

I've tried python, never enjoyed it personally - just didn't click with me, but might be because I am more used to the C type language structure.

As much as I hate Wordpress, it's a good argument for learning PHP if you want a guaranteed job (self employed).

some people are going try and convince me that x or y is better but quite honestly there is no other "framework" there that requires so few dependencies, can pretty much run on anything that has PHP and is so easily accessible.

That's the one end of the scale, which is a fair whack of web dev jobs out there.

I can agree with "DA-LION-619 " though, C# and ASP.net should be on there as it is a path you can go down.

That being said, the Roadmap for backend feels a bit off for somethings

The most glaring of which is you should probably read about MVC before using a Framework.

I like PHP because I can pawn off my family and friends to Wordpress :p
