with a Telkom 4 port ethernet ADSL router setup with a PPPoE connection on the router.
a win2003 server hosting a web site in IIS, connected to ADSL via lan.
i have a domain name registered and pointing to my ADSL.
problem i have is how in hell do i get the web site to be seen from the web.
anybody got any ideas, its got me

allright easy enough.

The win2003 server with iis should make a direct connection with pppoe from that box. The public ip(internet ip) will be directly on that box and now you will be able to access the website via the public ip(internet ip) from anywhere. This is however not what you want, you should get urself something like www.no-ip.org and run the small program on the same box as iis and the internet connection specified above.

By doing all mentioned you can run a webserver and bypassing the whole dynamic ip issue, sure you might have every 24hrs about 5mins max downtime when ip is being looked up with dns client on ip reset.

I hope this is what you wanted to know :D

ps. as a reminder, afaik IIS just like Apache has a hostname parameter you need to set. The dns you choose from the dns client site mentioned above should be entered for this parameter.
