Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who developed the web in the late 1980s, said he was just "in the right place at the right time".

No patent registered and wanted it to be available to everyone. (Take note Telkom.)

Such a humble beginning only to be throttled to death by Telkom.

(Greed is one of the seven deadly sins… )

PS: Betty, I notice your location is UK, are you one of our SA-expats? (Just curious & not being critical or passing judgement so please don't take offence at the question - I know some people would.)

Yes I've been over here for 6 years now and totally addicted to my cable connection. (Currently 750Kbps, moving to 2Mbps soon for £24.99) :D

Stop, please you are making me cry, well almost - I don't want to give Telkomonopoly that satisfaction ;)

Things have moved forward a lot since 2002 when I left London to return to SA, and [thread=17192]Telkomonopoly has been voted as the best telecoms company in the world[/thread] by South Africans - I think they need to be tracked down & de-brain-washed :D
