Hi

I have been lurking on the forums for a while, and now I need some help - hopefully this is the right place :)

I want to create a webpage which will basically display a few columns of data, and this needs to be able to be updated dynamically, and refresh every 60 seconds or so. As I have zero HTML / programming ability, my question to any experts out there is this: is this something which can be easily done by a noob or should I get someone to do this for me ? Reasonable (read cheap) offers will be considered.

Thanks in advance :D

Check out Drupal lotsa of free addons then just go thru some tutorials

Joomla is free

I suggest learning how to install Joomla on your site. If you have a host with fantastico, it is a mere 2 clicks to install.

If you need help, just pm me.

This should be fairly easy enough to do, all depends on what you mean by "updated dynamically". Feel free to PM me should you want some assistance.

Psykro - I need to be able to update the data in the tables as and when required, and with minimum effort

crashdan - do you use drupal yourself ? It looks as if this might be a useful tool, but it needs to be *really* simple

I use Drupal and Joomla but if you want some thing easy for yourself to use Joomla will be easier. They both have a lot of free templates and addons.
What exactly do you want updating all the time ? Maybe i can help you out a bit

I have used Joomla, and Drupal and if you are just looking for something really easy to use and easy to install I would presonally use Wordpress. It is fast and light weight and before you say, wait that is a blog, it isn't. It can be so much more than just a blog, you can make good looking sites with it and it is sooo easy to use. WP gets my vote any day of the week, I am in the process of converting a bunch of sites from Joomla to WP. It is also way more actively developed than Joomla and has plugins for anything you would want to do.

I agree with wordpress, i was able to work it out with no experience. It can be abit confusing trying to install but nothing too complicated.
Once its up, its a matter of logging in and updating whatever you want
It was also my 1st step in teaching myself webdesign
