Suggest you check your DNS settings. If you're running Windows, try running 'ipconfig /flushdns' from the command line.

Or for those scared of typing, disable the network card and re-enable also works.
HOWEVER, some of these errors are beacause the *bleep* transparent server IP address is banned on the site you are trying to reach.

I using SAOL as my DNS and SAIX and the secondary because I was having so many error's. I could not even resolve my mail box names!

Random errors when browsing

Have had the same experience for last 5-6 days - worst during last Thurs until Monday this week.

Called Telkom many times but could get no sense out of them until I spoke to a "senior technician", who said that the network was experiencing problems d because of the weather - rain and lightning!

When I expressed surprise that this could be so, he said that cabling and other infrastructure had been damaged by water and by lightning.

If true this could be an explanation for the many DNS errors experienced recently.

I also could not receive or send e-mail messages on some of my accounts (I have many e-mails operating under various businesses). Randomly one or other e-mail account would not work. One in particular was very stubborn until I changed the SMTP setting from the server setting (mail.mydomain.co.za) to smtp.saix.net - now it gives no trouble!

Wonder what happens in countries where it rains all the time - like UK?
