does anyone if shops like e.g pnp have a webservices or I would be able to programatically obtain information from their db/website

Well you could just go and their websites and email them to find out.

There are available, the SAP "development" for the product master query is about R280K, depending what else you need, things like price, weight, store availability, etc and how often you need it.. you will quering over 100k lines..
