Nox Rentals is a well established, Camps Bay based, tourism and accommodation business.
We are looking to hire an in-house developer to handle both web development and business system development. We are happy to hire on a full-time basis or to create a position with flexibility (e.g. three days per week in the office).
Our culture is about results and not about clock-watching, and we are happy to create flexibility in the position for the right candidate, including things like working remotely and non-standard office hours in the longer term.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills:
Strong web development skills: HTML, Javascript & CSS are essential, and the candidate should be very adept at using these. A strength in one particular server side technology is required, but the ability/competence to work with other technologies will be highly valued. The ability to integrate with other systems is also important: typically this has meant API communication using JSON and/or XML.
Strong database developments skills: the websites/systems are heavily data driven, and we store the data in relational databases, so good SQL skills and basic database administrations skills are essential.
We currently have multiple websites/systems, including a public-facing accommodation website plus two business process management systems. The sites have all been developed using Microsoft .NET WebForms with a SQL Server database. We are looking at redeveloping the public-facing website in the near future and would like the candidate to motivate (and take responsibility) for the choice of server-side technology to be used.
The candidate will be the single point of responsibility for our websites & software development, so we are looking for someone who is happy to take on that responsibility.
We are also planning on completely redoing our business workflow system (probably using the tool RunMyProcess.
Ideally, we’d like to have a look at your contributions to sites like StackOverflow and Github, so please send this information through, together with your CV. If you have any other resources which might be applicable (for example a tech-related blog or contributions elsewhere) please forward that through to.
We’re building something special here and we can create a job environment that is something exciting, creative, autonomous and awesome for the right applicant. We look forward to meeting you.
Please send all CVs and supporting information through to [email protected].
