Web9 CEO reiterates intention to stop spamming

He could invest a little money into his business or start a gofundme if he's broke... Or he could refrain from attempting the most brain dead business plan of taking on Google where even companies like Microsoft with the world's most popular operating system to their name have failed.

It's bound to fail.
Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex, Bing and Yahoo are actually not failures these are billion dollar businesses incase you hadn't noticed. The world is big enough for even another 10 search engines try hard to open your little brain. How many airlines are there? How many car manufacturers are there? How many news channels are there? How many football teams are there?

Don't call him a CEO. if you are a company that makes money from google ads on your site that you get traffic by sending out mass mails to people who don't want it, that does NOT make you a CEO. That makes you a spammer.

This guys is still impersonating other companies in his email and haven't apologized for that. . He has only apologized for sending people mail who have unsubscribed. (and that turned out a lie)

Imagine I wrote an article:
Prince Jonathan and Barrister Peters promises to fix the unsubscribe method on their website 419scam.com

The more you engage and cover a scammer that emboldens them. What's next. Will mybb write an article "CEO's mother is sick and in hospital" and for that reason people are still getting emails although they never subscribed or unsubscribed?

In case you hadn't noticed, Yahoo and Microsoft predate Google and Microsoft was a massive firm before Googole was thought of... I should hope they aren't a failure LMAO.
Yandex is also a multinational offering many many services, but then Russia is a massive country and unique in many ways.

Back to reality check, are you seriously saying you believe in this man's approach and his choice of business model? OK then

Since you appear to know him well* :whistling: , why not buy him a copy of "The Lean Startup" by Eric Reis. I know, Eric is American, but he knows his stuff...

*don't worry, your secret is safe with me
Since you appear to know so much which "Lean Startup" have you ever created? I know about Web9 because I read about it all the time on MyBroadband. Do you know what I've heard about you ........ Nothing!

What is it with these scammers who use English names in their correspondence. The article says he is African but he chooses to call himself Mike Smith. I have never met an black African Mike Smith. He must have forgotten to switch from his 419 scammer persona.

I do not work at Web9 but I am inspired by what they are doing. Maybe I should start my own Facebook :D
So the only reason you register a username is to defend the indefensible.

You are right. You don't work at Web9. What you do is not called work. Spamming is not work.

can mybb not trace his IP this user posted and compare that with the IP you got from his email. Then write an article of how the spammer is creating false usernames and his original apology wasn't sincere.

No need to get personal IMO. I can call myself piet snot in here, doesn't mean squat ;)
So address him as Mike Smith then if you feel he can call himself that.

Considering he impersonates companies in emails for profit, I think impersonating himself as someone different is in bad taste. But that is just me.

Hey let's have mybb write an article. "White South Africans defend Web9" and quote Mike Smith's response.

Apologies... Work is too strong a word for what they do... Waste people's time and money being useless is more accurate.

I hear you, though in here I wouldn't call it impersonating. Very few people use their own names. He did make it a little obvious that it was him tho.
But how many of those people create fake real world full names as nics for the purpose of answering a thread to a mybb article which states as a fact he impersonates other companies?

@mikesmith2019
Another piece of advice - it's free - why not consider partnering with a local provider to add value instead of reinventing the wheel? Why not consider approaching Google and suggesting where you can add value to their model in a local context? They have offices in SA. That way you get valuable experience and can decide whether you want to take them on or not.
That's a really great idea. I will pass this on to the Web9 team

Very new issue, so you are lying if you say that, and you might thus indeed be the spammer.

The article does not say he is African it says Web9 is an African search engine because it was created in Africa.

This is not about black and white South Africans. It's about Africans creating their own services to not rely 100% on American services. Is that really so hard to understand? Race does not even come into the discussion

The article does not say he is African it says Web9 is an African search engine because it was created in Africa.
The article mentions him by name Shingi Mushipe.

Are you saying a random guy from outside Africa decides to come to African and create the crappiest and slowest search engine in history in Africa? Or are you just a spammer who want to protect your identity.

You don't even know who I am lol.
One piece of advice. If you can't take criticism, you'll never make it. You have to be thick skinned.
Another piece of advice, don't adopt the 'if you can't beat them, join them' attitude if you want to be successful without looking over your shoulder. Bypassing or skirting the law is a sure way to make your life miserable.
Last one, there's nothing wrong with coming up with a good business plan and approaching funders to kickstart it. The hard part is getting the business plan together.
Also, don't start off by badmouthing the competition, rather show your goods and how they're valuable. Let them stand on their own two feet as far as value for money is concerned. How can anyone say no to that?
I fully agree

So this Shingi Mushipe is a European name? Indian name? Asian name? Sounds possibly Vendaish to me, but I'm white, so I might not be right.
Yes you might not be right. Are there any pictures available of this individual? But it doesn't really matter even a white person can be African
