WebAfica Line - TI acc - Local only issue?

I have a 384 line at home that I moved over to WebAfrica a few months back and a Telkom 4096 line at the office.

I have noticed that when I try to use a capped 1GB TI account at home I can only access POP3 & SMTP protocols to a locally host mail server and no local websites or news server :mad:. But when I use the same account at the office I get local mail, websites and news server all work fine as would be expected. :confused:

Anybody think it could be a WA vs Telkom line issue?
Anybody with a WA line using a TI account that is capped and still getting full local only access?

My capped Telkom Internet account only lets me use local only on the Telkom line at the office but not when i try use it for local only at which is a WebAfrica line.

Thinking of changing my 384 line at home back to Telkom?
Any thoughts?
 
No do not use proxy.
Anybody out there that can test a capped TI account on a WA line to see if they can still get local only?
 
Think I am going to move my line back to Telkom and see if that resolves the issue.
 
Ok so i swapped my circa 2002 1st gen telkom router (the original 1 Ethernet port version) that i have been using at home with the newer 4 port telkom router that i have been using at work and now i have local only at home.
That old router must have some or other setup that the TI local only accounts do not like.
Maybe i will try a firmware upgrade or reset back to default on the old router and see if that fixes things.
 
cannot be a Line issue... The line is only the medium and handles the PPPoE session

check with another PC / router / firmware whatever...

My experience is as follows:
- If the line is down, nothing works (line cannot work partly, it might disconnect some times due to poor quality, but that is something else)
- Problems at ISP usually means something wrong on backbone of either IS / SAIX
- If it authenticates and an IP is assigned, all local sites should work
