All you guys and girls at WA - thanks for my rock-solid Titan Complete 2!

Since you upgraded the news server to allow 5 connections I am getting full 4MB speeds off it, which is also great.

I am almost 100% pleased, there is just one little issue I am experiencing atm:
Up until recently YouTube has been great, but now every other video just doesn't load at all. It takes a minute to buffer perhaps the first 3s of the vid, then it gets stuck. So some vids perform as expected (can watch without buffering from loading the page), while others perform as if I'm on dialup (worse actually). Refreshing the page does not help.

Are you aware of this, and can someone look into it?

On the same package. Sometimes I have trouble playing Youtube videos myself. When I'm lucky the 480p videos will play fine but usually I have to settle for 360p. Sometimes I can't play a video at all.
I suppose 720p is asking too much from a 4MBit connection though.

I am so pleased I am not the only one.

When I moved to the complete 7 package a few months ago, youtube was awesome and I could watch at 720p with very little buffering. Now it is a hit and miss affair with the odd occasion all going well, but often I feel like I am on my 384k line.

Seeing that so far 3 of us are in the same boat, there must be a problem and knowing WA they will attend to it.

I have also noticed that web browsing is not as fast as it used to be - not bad but just not as great as it used to be. I know the WA were doing some work on Friday which has helped a bit, but still not as good as it used to be. Maybe everyone is moving to a quality ISP and systems are starting to show some strain?

The youtube issues will probably go away when Seacom is fixed, which the google cache servers use to download the videos over.

Hi guys

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I have notified the engineers of this problem and requested some feedback.

As soon as I receive some information I will update the thread.

Thank you.

Thanks Angelo, much appreciated!

@ jeanres
Nope.. that would be asking a bit much, wouldn't it? :)

Hi guys

My apologies for the delay in updating the post.

We believe that this is specific to certain exchanges being over-loaded, it seems as though it is only affecting certain exchanges at certain times of the day.

However this has not been confirmed and it is still being investigated.

We are still trying to gather more information to assist us in pin pointing exactly where the problem is.

In order for us to isolate the problem we would need some assistance with this.

We require 2 trace routes to the same server from the same line as well as your location (cpt,jhb,dbn,etc....)

One trace route should be done during office hours and the other between 21:00 and 23:00.

Please free to post your trace route results here and I will notify our engineers.

Based on the information we receive we will be able to log a FQ to SAIX.

Thank you.

I've had this problem with youtube videos as well and my work uses mtn business. So it's not WA.

Hey Zombie

Help me out here, So WA does have a news server? I dont seem to find documentation it

Can you give me the addresss - I assume the logon is the same as for ADSL?

Shot Thanks

Yep they do - news.wa.co.za
No logon required, but you need to be connected with a WA account. Set GrabIt or whatever you're using to 5 connections and you should get full speeds.

Hi guys

I have just received an update from our engineers.

We have logged a FQ with SAIX and are waiting for feedback as to what the possible cause of all the latency spikes being experienced is.

You may check keep an eye out on our forums for more updates. - http://forums.webafrica.co.za/showthread.php?3976-Lag-spikes-in-Guild-Wars/page4

I will try to update this thread with any feedback.

Thank you.
