WebAfrica authentication problems - AGAIN?

Anyone else experiencing authentication issues with Web Africa? All my other SAIX based accounts seem to be working 100% and not for the first time.
 
Me too.

But I'm also having the same problem with my Saix account.
 
Same here. I just keep getting password invalid errors the whole time. Took about 50 redials to get mine connected.
 
Hi,

We are currently experiencing an issue with our Authentication between SAIX and ourselves, one of the symptoms of this is being unable to access/use http://userstats.adsl.saix.net. A number of authentication requests are not arriving on our servers and we have informed SAIX of this and are awaiting feedback. The problem is intermittent and generally after a number of retries the request does get to us. We hope to have this resolved shortly.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
 
Yeah, mine's been doing this intermittently for the last year??? but a lot more in the last week (esp. in the mornings) on WA
 
HI Guys,

Ironically we have RADIUS servers on both SAIX and Verizon for greater reliability and redundancy. Everything is 100% on our side the only thing we can suspect is Verizon / SAIX link may be the cause of packetloss and hence intermittent authentication issues.

What we've done is made our SAIX -> SAIX link primary and the Verizon->SAIX link a backup and to see if this resolves it completely.
 
This problem still persists. Authentication is intermittent
 
I have always needed to dial in at least twice but assumed it was an issue with my router or something and have never thought twice about it. But since I use routesentry now I have it on autoconnect so I guess it just keeps trying until it works and I dont really notice :p

Will check this afternoon at home if I notice anything funny.
 
Oh goodie - its happening again.

Fortunately my non-WebAfrica accounts are working so I'm thinking this is the last gb of PAYG I buy from WebAfrica. :mad:

Can you PM me your client code or phone number so I can give you a call and we can figure out what the problem is that you're experiencing. Our authentication servers are currently running 100% so I'm not sure why you're unable to login.

Thanks and thanks but eventually all my accounts went pear-shaped . . . EOM I guess - we'll see where things go. :)

Blackberry still worked so its all good. :)
 
Possible solution

Ah ok I had the same problem today (~100 re-authentications on Webafrica) but I think my Telkom ADSL router is overheating (stacked between 2 switches). I plugged in a spare D-Link modem and all worked fine. Then I plugged the cooled down Telkom ADSL router back and all was working fine, so I think it may be a heat problem. Not sure if it helps.
