Hi all

Anyone else having issues on WA this morning? I'm finding websites (both local and INTL) are slow to load, and some files timing out.

Is it just my line or a widespread issue?

Cheers

Maybe they've replaced all their copper with platinum. Someone should have told them it is not as conductive.

Why did I even bother going to the Comedy Festival this weekend when I could have just cruised the forums for entertainment. World Class. :|

Hey Dean

There are no reported issues at this time on our network.

There is however a problem on the SAIX network, the Akamai link is down.

This will have an effect on you general browsing.

Please keep an eye on our notice board for an update.

Thanks. ;)

Shot for the info - I should really remember to check the SAIX notices before posting :|

Dean are you with MWEB? I am and the Internet has been hideous for days - according to that WA page, it's the peering issue with MWEB. Elsewhere someone said it wouldn't affect us, but clearly it is by their own admission:

Please be aware that due to the recent changes implemented by Mweb, affecting local transit through SAIX. Please see MyBB and MyGaming.

This change will adversely affect any Mweb Customers outside of the greater Cape Town region as Mweb only have Regional Peering in place at CINX and JINX. Traffic from the other major centres around South Africa will be rerouted internationally out of the Mweb Network, via London or other international destinations on connection from Johannesburg to the WA network.

This will impact all non-Cape Town Mweb customer's connectivity to the WA Network resources including our Data Centre.
