So my account was in arrears. Didn't have money to pay it until today.
They did me a favour by not cancelling it completely. Thanks for that.

Today I can't make the payment, due to a payment error popping up.
I contact them via WhatsApp, explain the issue and here's the kicker.

The consultant asks me quite casually. Can I try the payment for you?
In what fkn world are these people living?
He expected me to provide him with my card, CVV and one time pin details?

Are people crazy? Are they mental? More than me?

I told him, listen, that's just not how life works. He says, "was just trying to help".

This ISP needs a serious fkn wakeup call.

Reportable irregularity
That's the problem right there.
You can't even phone these people anymore.

They have no complaints department or processes. You are at the mercy of their consultants and whether they feel like helping you or not.

I'm not the social media type. So I won't even attempt to complain there. I'll get a copy paste response as usual and nothing will be done.

Oh, thats nothing.
a few years back Debonairs did not have an online ordering system as of yet, we had to call in our order to the local store.
Paying by credit card - the person who took my order used to repeat out LOUD my entire credit card details where anyone within earshot could just casually write down what they heard multple times a day.
After the second or third time of me stating to the person who took my order NOT TO SHOUT MY DETAILS OUT LOUD - I hung up the phone, drove there and went nuclear Karen on their ass.

Funny story, as I arrived in store said person was busy doing exacly the same to another Customer.
I walked up to them, took out my cell and started typing, looking at them sternly as they repeated the details.
Vapid dumbass did not click what I was doing - I had to call the manager and show them the error of this persons ways.

It's ridiculous.

Let me put to you this way.

How would this WA consultant make the payment on my behalf without my CVV and OTP?
Sure, they've got the card on file, but there's no fkn way they could do it otherwise.

I'm pissed as well. Paid the account just after 18:00. I'm still suspended.
They are piss poor.

Jirre but you're ungrateful.

Hopefully the just suspend your account next time you do not have the money to pay for the services that you are enjoying...

Definitely real...
Oh right, cool. Yeah while I pay for my services I won't turn my entire credit card details over to some random stranger on the other end of the phone.
You might...not sure most would.

Not my point at all....and no I would not either.

My issue is with OP's self-righteous attitude.

Where am I self-righteouss?
The account was suspended by the way. I couldn't use the connection at all.
This thread is about someone requesting my card details. Nothing to do with being ungrateful.

The suspension was only lifted a few minutes ago when I had to contact them again.

Your pi$$ing and moaning about them wanting your CC details, quickly evolved into a general badmouthing of the ISP:

IF you managed your own finances better...or used a product you actually could afford, none of these issues would've occurred. But, as the norm in the world today, the blame is shifted.

Pathetic really...

So you are contending that Web-Africa's systems are flawless and their consultants are doing such a stellar job that no complaints are justified?

Nobody else on the forum seems to be having issues with them at all.. Oh wait.

They were probably just naive and trying to help. I don’t think they would risk losing a job and regular salary by committing once off CC fraud.

Have also had the pizza incident before where my entire numbers were read back out loud over the phone, can’t remember if it was debonairs though.

Yup did the Debonairs thing once and when we got to that ridiculous step that was the end of it.

Don’t know why the **** I wanted to eat that kak in the first place.

I give out raw card details via phone and email all the time. Companies in the UK do this method a lot.

If it does leak report the transaction and get a new card, it's one of the main benefits of a CC, it's not your money...
