Hi --
On fz1's recommendation purchased 1Gb of semi-shaped fibre from Nexus.
Using my WebAfrica connection ran an international speed test against a server in California. Maximum download speed was < 100kbps. My upload speed was over 300kbps, i.e. 3x my download speed.
NB: I have been getting similar low speed test results i.e. < 300kbps from WebAfrica for around a month now. Have complained to WebAfrica, but with no success.
Repeated the test using the Nexus connection. Maximum download speed achieved was around 1650kbps, with upload similar to WebAfrica.
Tests were run around 16h45 using speedtest.net, with the Nexus test duplicated around 22h00. My line is currently restricted to 2Mb.
