HI all, sorry to resurrect this.

I'm trying to set up a Minecraft server for my kids. Does WebAfrica double-nat on OpenServe too?

They won't just allocate one to you. It's an additinal service so will need to be "ordered". It's also a monthly fee. R95/pm +-

Alternatively if you don't want that, setup something like tailscale or twingate as a vpn gateway. Tbh I'd go with the vpn gateway. Software is free to use and easy to setup

Already tried asking them if there's a paid dynamic or static public ip option - stated it's not available in my area , that is after 6 months of trying to explain to their agents what the issue was . Will probably setup a pi with a vpn client until open serv fibre is available . Definitely feels a bit underhanded , cant wait to move to another isp . There was no obvious warning about CGN in their advertising or sign up processes.

I don't think this is something any ISP declares. Either way, VPN tunnels are far better and safer as your devices are not actually exposed.

The only thing I have a public IP for is for my mailserver. Literally everything else is locked behind a vpn tunnel.
