STEAM content Server coming!
A steam content server is in the process of being setup and will be the 2nd service offering to be included in the FreeZone.

Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation. It is used to distribute a large number of games and related media entirely over the Internet. There are approximately 788 software titles available for which Steam allows users to purchase any of these games entirely digitally. Instead of receiving a box, disc, or even CD key, purchased software is immediately attached to the user’s Steam account.

Web Africa ADSL subscribers will be able to download content, such as full games, from the Web Africa hosted Steam server without utilizing any bandwidth from their accounts!

This is most likely only a local content server, and you will still need international to authenticate.


Hopefully, the WA server will end up being listed in the download locations in the client, so we will not have to jump through any hoops to force it to only connect to the specific one.

if you wanted to download on a local only account would steam authentication be possible? If not and you use international there is no way to guarantee usage of the webafrica steam mirror... or is there?
