Hi,
I know that I have a home connection with a dynamic IP that will change but with Webafrica, it seems very excessive and I was wondering if anything can be done about it or if it's an ISP issue or FNO.
I recently moved to a new home where FibreGeeks are the FNO with a limited amount of ISP's on their network.
Where I was previously, I had a different ISP and FNO and as long as my connection stayed up while running on UPS backup during load shedding, not once did my IP change.
Now, I have backup and can confirm that my devices remain powered, the FNO's POP is less than 300m from my house and they have a generator so my connection stays up.
Still, I see my IP changing sometimes more than once a week which is crazy.
I work with certain connections that are better accessed via whitelisting my public IP vs going via a VPN so I end up having to constantly update rules.
Would this be a Webafrica issue?
In which case, I will definitely look at getting a different ISP.
