You know what they say, first impressions lasts. And it will be the same next time you DO need support. Just browse the forums a bit and see people saying how dismal their call center wait times is.

People like WAJeff and WAJustinW are on these forums solely to keep people quiet from bitching and moaning too much. They're glorified fire-fighters. You will get priority over another client just because you moaned here or HelloPeter.

Now think about that for a second and then ask yourself if you really want to deal with a company like that

They have been fine when I've needed to contact them...although I haven't tried phoning. Always used the Customer Zone, and they have always answered nice and quickly, also the live chat on their website if you need quick answers.

Do your research carefully before moving to them. Things go up and down a lot and can be very frustrating at times. There are people who are happy, but there are those who are not and it seems that many people on this forum have left them. I use them due to a special they offered a long time ago, but it is a bumpy road, so can't recommend them

Well I just bought a R29 account to test them and I will say the performance of the weekend was great but I found out today that they are moving over to IS so I probably wont stick with them as IS has never been good and never will be......any suggestions ? for gaming streaming and work? :)

Can you let me know when you bought the R29 account? I'm assuming it's the 2GB account too?
New signups go directly onto IS, but it depends when you've purchased the account.

I purchased it last week so I am guessing I am on IS already and whilst I see the point your trying to make IS is not known for there stability or reliability and I am sure once your network is completely moved over we will start to notice the performance difference. I myself and a load of my clients have been on IS before and to date for me anyways they have given the worst experience and yes I may be biased now but it does come from experience with dealing with them over the years. But we will see in the next few months, hope I am wrong

For now I will just keep WA as a backup account. On another note I cant seem to get any faster download speeds than this, my Telkom account gives me around 6 -7 Mbps

Test conducted on 05 February 2013 11:53:45

Download Speed: 2820 kbps (352.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 498 kbps (62.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 89 ms

IS is awesome. As I keep on saying. IS creates accounts to suit the ISP's needs. Openweb GOLD IS for example is great because Openweb wanted a quality account. If you used an ISP that prioritized price over quality, then you got what you paid for.

Like I said we will see and anyways the point your making is then unless I go with the best package and the highest price I got no chance of getting a good connection which just tells me what IS stands for already

If you have signed up for an account last week then you are still on our current IPC network. As per our press release article http://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/69776-web-africas-big-adsl-move.html, we are still managing our ADSL product groupings, with full control over their unique product offerings. Meaning that we can create our own packages with our own bandwidth priorities/profiles. So we can assure our customers will be getting even better performance than our current packages.

With regards to your speed issue. Have you taken that up with support?

I doubt you are on the IS network already. Maybe post a traceroute, it should be easy to spot if you are routed via the WA or IS network.

IMHO, the IS accounts recently are awesome.
