Hello All,
I understand that some providers charge a cancellation fee if you are not active on their network for a certain period of time. This is normally to offset any benefit you may have received when joining. E.g. Free router, discounted monthly fees etc.

Why does Webafrica charge you a cancellation fee irrespective of how long you are with them even when you are receiving zero extra benefits?

As per their T's and C's: If you use Webafrica on Vuma and EVER decide to leave you will face penalties??? This makes ZERO sense.

Am I reading these terms and conditions correctly?

Or you could just go with Krypton Web and not pay any cancellation fees
If you are switch from you current ISP, you also only pay R399 pm for your first 3 months internet service irrespective of connection Speed

@Afrigirl You have not answered my question. By giving me a different screenshot, and not looking at the one I gave you, in no way addresses what I asked.

On your web sites T&Cs @ https://www.webafrica.co.za/legal/#Cancellations @ item number 75:

Lets breakdown what it is saying:
1st sentance: I am on Vumatel so this applies to me.

"Cancellation processing fees might be applied on certain Fibre Network Operators such as Vumatel for example."

2nd sentence: Clearly states that you will charge me R999 if I EVER leave your network.

"You will be liable for the R999 cancellation processing fee should you cancel at any time on an applicable Fibre Network Operator."

Your screenshot of T&C's CONTRADICT the 2nd sentence on your own website:

The web says "AT ANY TIME" and yours says "less than 6 months". Which one is it?

You are aware that @Afrigirl is with Afrihost and not Webafrica right? I think you have the two confused.

@WebAfrica Helper is the rep for Webafrica on the forum. @Afrigirl was just pointing out Afrihost's cancellation policy.

@Afrigirl , My humblest apologies for questioning your companies T&C's. You obviously do NOT have the same BS policy as Webafrica.

Apologies Afrihost.

WA is a circus gathering masquerading as an ISP. The sooner people accept this and stop using them, the better.

Those clowns will charge you a full month's service fees despite signing up on the 27th. That experience is why I will never touch them ever again. They pissed me off while I was onboarding. I was out of the by the end of the first full month

The fact that @Afrigirl actually responds to my post, even though it has nothing to do with Afrihost, has convinced me to switch over to Afrihost.

Thanks for the input!!

Been with Afrihost since 512kb ADSL line days. Not a single problem that they didn't resolve quickly since then. Still with them on Vuma.
