Ok - so i should leave the connection running? its now 11.25 pm.so i should just keep going.cuz the capping is done at midnight.basically i should leave my pc on till tuesday.lol. :D
 
Capping is done every 24hrs :)

Usually when I unplug my router for long periods of time, ie. disconnecting, I'm capped as soon as I start up my router again. But when I leave it running I can run the cap for up to a week. It might not be such a problem in your case since you are only @ 2.1 gig.

Word is Telkom accounts (ie. From Telkom ISP,NOT Saix based resellers) can usually be run up to 10 gigs. Esp. if you haven't punished the account before.
If you are running via. a saix based reseller. Web-Africa/MWeb/Absa basically ANYTHING other than Telkom ISP. Your chances of overrunning the cap, become slim to none. And if you do, they'll charge you for each and every MB you used.

Theres a hell of alot of lightning here now.i wanna shut down.ive dl 2.2 gigs so far.im gonna shutdown.i pray im not capped 2m :( also with lightining and usb modems....must i unplug it out the phone line or what ?

@ 2.2 you should be safe for a while - perhaps even last out the month but get a gb with webafrica if you worried and keep it in reserve.

Better to be safe that sorry - unplug everything and nothing can happen :)
 
ok cool.well i just restarted the pc! and i logged in straight! so i guess im not capped!!!!!!!! i live another day :D!!!!!!! THE STORY OF THE ADSL rookie who was petrified of getting capped continues.man adsl rocks.
i cant blieve i used 56k before :( shockin
 
The point at which ppl get capped on telkomSA is completely arbitrary.
 
2GB account should get you to ~5-6GB

3GB account should get you ~10-11GB

Especially if you haven't went over the limit before.
 
Hi guys , hope you are all well.

Just to clarify:

1) If you are ordering on our website and pay via Bank Transfer, you would need to send us a copy of the EFT payment confirmation in order for us to activate your account, this is normally caught before the client gives us a shout.

2) If you are paying by debit order or credit card , (which is the best way to pay if you are going to use our prepaid service) the account will be activated automatically within 2-5 minutes , however this is only if the debit order and credit card details synch correctly to the banking servers

Give me a shout if you experience any problems with this :)
