Ok so on the 27th Sept I subscribed to one of Webafricas business capped accounts for R419. I assumed I would receive a full months data for this.

I was wrong, 1st October I was charged a further R419 rand.

I'm sorry but how does that represent any value to the customer? They generously offered to instead charge me at 27 rand per gig. Working out to R800+ for September.

Am I wrong here in thinking this is very poor?

Never mind I applied for fibre over two months ago and they charged my for a modem I have never received to this date.

It's supposed to be pro rata for the balance of the month iirc. Or was that AH?

Nope they charged me the full R419 rand for 3 days and 27gigs

This is why I used them a month and cancelled. Full fee, pro-rata data! WTF. Still got the comms.

I wouldn't have minded paying full fee and getting all my data. But no, it was otherwise.

I upgraded my (capped) account very late in the month and was also charge for a full month.

They don't seem to want to play nice. And compared to other ISPs they are now in the Rip-Off Camp.

That is shocking to say the least and a really desperate attempt to get a bit more money

I signed up with AH for mobile data and they pro-rated both the cost and the data. That is the way it should be

WA you are not doing yourselves any favours by this type of actions

Have you cancelled or do you plan to stay with them?

I cancelled yesterday. Staying with my vox account

and now you are also gonna have to pay another month, cause you had to have cancelled it before the end of last for it to take effect the end of this month.

they suck you dry.... i hate there supposed "month-to-month" deals, they lie, cause it's always at least 2 months sometimes even 3...

I left WebAfrica with a smile on my face. They supply good quality bandwidth, but they shark you around every corner

Hi swazi85,

Our capped services are not pro-rated, hence, you get the full bandwidth allocation and you get invoiced for the full amount as well. However, please PM me your account details so we can have a look at this.

It is extremely bias towards Webafricas benefit. How do I get full value in a tenth of the time I paid for.

I signed up with AH for a mobile package - capped. Everything was pro-rata from the time I signed up. This is the way to be customer focused and fair.

Sorry to say but WA is just trying to squeeze whatever they can from the customer and this is a pity as it is not a good move from a marketing point of view
