:mad:We have been using WebAfrica for many years but it seems their servcie levels have fallen way down - even worse than Telkom.

We spend over R1500 a month just on our ADSL connection with them but by their service to us you'd think we were some pay as you go customers.

Our uncapped static adsl line took over 8 weeks to get working due to their extremely bad service and setup. They sent three routers, got Telkom here about six times and wasted dozens and dozens of hours of my time until some bright spark there realised there was a setting error they had made. It almost killed me trying to get something so simple to work.

Now I have some other DNS, caching type error. The service ticket has been open for over a week and the best they could do was to send Telkom around to check our line at our cost. Obviously there wasn't anything wrong with the line.

Besides that, I haven't heard a word from them.

I would do almost anything to get out of this contarct. It is in my calendar to make sure we don't spend one day extra with them than we have to.

We also have 3G cards for laptops and iBurst as a backup. I never have issues with them. My advice to other people out there would be to stay well clear of WebAfrica. Even though we used to refer our clients to them for service in the past. They used to be fantastic.

Theirs is the worst service I have ever had from any ISP ever in my life. No one there seems to care and all I ever get from support is "Have a great evening" email.

Update

Hi

Firstly I apologies for the lack of service you experiences from us, service is a priority at Web Africa.

I have dropped you a PM please provide me with your client details, so that i may investigate into this matter.

Not quite venom. Telkom has been to our premises on numerous occassions to troubleshoot my problems - even though it's not their issue.

WebAfrica on the other hand has more often than not just ignored me.

The news the have today is that the technician working on my problem is off sick. I've hread that from them many times.

Sorry to hear that Barney, but I think it is safe to say that you may be an exception to the rule in this case. Webafrica has proven them to be the most service orientated ISP to date. Wavern has pm'ed you for more info regarding your issue. He usually gets things sorted very quickly.

Also, I understand that you are having issues, but is it really necerssary to SPAM everyone elses thread?

Hope your issue gets resolved quickly.

I must agree that this seems to be an exception. I have been using WA for a couple of years and I would gladly recommend them to anyone. I have always received good service from them and they seem to be a lot more transparent than any other ISP

They helped me quickly though after I mentioned my troubles here.

Hope they do the same for you also.

i love WA, i have never had a bad experience with them. a techie even helped me set up routesentry last year :)

Well what do you know. It appears this website is where you log your support queries for WebAfrica. They worked out that it was me logging these complaints, called me up and have actualy solved my problem. I think in future I'll just log all issues here and then they'll sort it out.

WebAfrica's service used to be fantastic and if you make enough noise, it's still pretty good.

Hope fully there'll be no more moaning from barney.

Having had my ADSL line for a year now and having been with WA all that time and also having had 3 seperate outages where every single time WA managed to get the issue resolved faster than I thought possible, I can honestly say that you were an exception.
