So after using Axxess for almost mmm 3 years now and never had billing or support issues with them. Never!

I though well let me give Webafrica a go. I used to be with them a while back but changed too Axxess. You know just too change things up a bit.

So got myself 2 x 1 gig unshapped accounts. Now 1st off the site screws up and adds 1 extra 1gig which at 1st I didnt mind. But it does not add the bandwidth but deducts the money from my credit card.

Fine I though I'll give them a call when I get a chance. Not even a week later I check my credit card statement and a few days before I see another deduction of R250 from my account. Check my webafrica adsl account and nope no cap added they just went and deducted money for the fun of it would seem.

Call them on Friday. Takes me 25min and still no one can tell me why this happened and if they can refund me my money.

Now being transfered from 1 department too the next starts pissing me off so when I get to billing/accounts again. I ask if I can get a refund and am then told that I can get it credit on my adsl account. I there and then decided that if in less then a month my account can be f'd up like this I would not be using these guys again. Now getting my account cancelled seems too be a even worse issue. 3 times I have been told I will be called back. I still have not had a call back from anyone.

Totally rubbish service...they will never see me again. And I will make sure that who ever considers using them will hear how utterly crap their service is!

I feel your pain. When it comes to ISP's, keep your credit card in your wallet(better still, take a scissors to it). Do an EFT payment every month and email a proof of payment to the ISP, and you should have no problems. Don't even do debit orders, a once off monthly payment is fine, not a hassle these days.

once off payments it is from now on. But like I said. Strange that in almost 3 years I have never had any issues with credit card payments with Axxess.

Oh well.

Hi lordneon,

I am completely flabbergasted by reading of your experience with Web Africa. Our humble apologies, I can only come to imagine what frustration this must cause you. Please be so kind as to PM your client code and details to me, so I may look into this asap.

Thanks!

pm sent

thanks I really do hope you can help me more then the people I talked too on the phone.

Hi lordneon,

Thank you very much for sending me your details. I have looked into the account and have responded to your PM. I believe all should now be sorted, if not however, please let me know :)

Thanks!

+1 on the Axxess credit card payment story, no problems here either.

I also do the WA thang by monthly once off payments, and was pleasantly surprised a few months back when I forgot to make payment by month end. On the 10th I received a courteous email reminder indicating my account was in arrears, which I promply paid after first checking I had not paid. No disruption in service.

Methinks most other ISP's would have hung me out to dry. Nice one WA.

Well I would just like too thank wamariet for helping me and proving too me there is still customer service. You saved your company there. Though it will be a while before I try Webafrica again.

Lets hope your helpful nature rubs off on all the other employees there.

Thanks again.

I've learned to skip the line by asking for Mariet whenever it comes to billing issues. The morons they have working there sometimes get too much.

Not all of them are morons though... sometimes when I'm in a playful mode I like confusing them.

Is it possible to purchase a once-off 30GB local-only from Web Africa, i.e. end of the month the account (and any associated billing) terminates?

Yes, you just need to email them before the month ends.
