I dont know if I interpretted your "free for all" phrase correctly or not but this is how I have seen it.
I was just thinking over the if you're over your threshold or not part. So I stay in threshold to maintain a high priority so I dont get affected by network problems due to heavy usage which the out of threshold seems to be... in theory thats how it works according to that policy. But you mentioned here its a free for all no matter how far out of your threshold you are so I see that as basically the being in your threshold goes to hell and your performance can actually decrease due to increased load since you are now same priority as everyone else.
So with everyone being put on the same plate so to speak my being in threshold means nothing and if there is a performance impact on the network due to throttling/shaping/priorities affecting non p2p services its tough for me ?

Ok this will most likely only occur if there are network problems (like now) but my reasoning was as such
12-6 doesnt count towards usage (AWESOME)
12-6 everyone is on the same priority (Hmm)
If say the network has capacity problems (like now) not everyone only uses the internet 12-6 for downloads, some its surfing, gaming, music whatever so if the ammount of bandwidth is an issue surely the people who were in threshold come midnight should retain their performance edge ? So two pools so to speak.
Of course I'm calling it as I see it currently (home usage sucking as the night goes on) and come 15th this post may become pointless.
I meant it in that regard, the in threshold retaining their edge but usage not being affected. Thats how I always thought it worked.
Clear things up ?
If the network is under load, then the users who have exceeded their threshold will be de-prioritised The users who have not exceeded their threshold will not see any difference.

I got to disagree but if he wants to leave he is more than welcome as the rest of us are happy.I have been encouraging people to leave WA and rather find themselves a proper isp. These guys have been going down the drain for a while now with poor products and even poorer customer service yet they refuse to properly address these issues.

My own experience has flagged their support as extremely overrated. I think they believe they are better and that's all that matters. This uncapped offering has been a flop and they have not done enough research. WA has become a cross between IS and Mweb, with the worst parts at the forefront. They need to catch a wakeup before they lose the customers gained.I disagree especially on the service, Webafrica has stellar support, if you dislike their customer service I'd hate to see what you think of say... MWeb. They have the best control panel I've ever seen (and I've been with all the major ISP's) which is a huge bonus for product management and billing. I am experiancing a poor product currently but thats not for this thread and neither is this post or yours for that matter. If they pull this uncapped back together then awesome times lay ahead.
Why do ALL ISP's in South Africa throttle uncapped internet connections?? Even unshaped gets throttled (and that's really sad). Wouldn't it be better if they sold huge caps like 300GB, 600GB cap for the same price of uncapped and not throttle connections??
