So I am considering getting this package. The problem is that my line is with another ISP AND it is 384 at the moment. Does anyone know how I should go about the process? I must give my ISP 30 days notice first.

The only thing that I am concerned about right now is the fact that by the time my line is released and my other ISP suscription is cancelled then the Titan deal may be unavailable.

you need to give your other ISP notice. depending on the contract you have... it might be instant, or 30 days.

after you have given notice, you can sign up with Web Africa, and just tell them when your other contract ends, and that they need to organise to move the line over.

Pretty sure you can sign up to Titan in the meantime regardless.

WebAfrica should handle all the rest for you - changing 'ownership' (for lack of the correct word) to the speed upgrade.

Hi fdaniels

Firstly you need to arrange with your current ISP to transfer your line back to Telkom.

Once this has been completed you may contact Web Africa to arrange the line transfer for you from Telkom to Web Africa.

The good news is you can take advantage of our Titan Complete package immediately. ( http://www.webafrica.co.za/adsl/titan_dsl_special )

You may order the service while your line is still in the process of being transferred.

Once you let us know your line is with Telkom, we can process your transfer request for you immediately.

Please pm me with your contact details if you have any further queries and I will contact you as soon as I can.

Thank you.

I just signed up today myself and I must say the service already is awesome from webafrica.
Very friendly person by the name of Stacey Benjamin helped me. Wish Telkom could be on the same level.
Just a pity I have to wait another few weeks for my line to be transferred.

While you wait,is the line useable ?
Do you lose your slot and get assigned a new one ?

Hey Uli. Glad to hear about your experience. WebAfrica has PMed me with all the answers that I need. The Titan package is exactly what I've been looking for. A generous amount of bandwidth at fantastic speeds :D I can't wait.

Your slot stays your slot and you carry on as before, your account gets activated with bandwidth when the line is transferred (well that’s how I understand it) as I don’t have a username and password for the bandwidth yet. I was advised it could take 4-6 weeks to do obviously depending how fast Telkom releases the line to them. But WA does seam to go the extra mile thus far in my experience which is great to see for a change.

So I contacted my ISP asking them to transfer my ADSL line back to Telkom. I asked them what I need to do to authorise this and I asked them how long they expect the transfer to take. I get a response 18 hours later saying ....

Good day,

Please tell us the reason why you would like to migrate the ADSL back to
Telkom.

Kind regards
xxxx

lol. Oh well, I may as well respond truthfully now. :D

Umm... tell them to F.O. - thats none of their business

If, however, they want to ask you whether you would be so kind as to take a few moments to enlighten them about why you no longer want to stay with them, so that they can try to improve as they grow in the future, that would seem fair.
