I'm have a WebAfrica 'DSL Complete' package 384/1Gb, clearly at some point I'm going to have to buy a topup because the 1Gb / month is not going to last.

My question is; let's say I buy a 1Gb topup today, at the end of the month my 'free' Gb gets added to my account and my balance goes up to 1Gb + unused data from the 1Gb topup. From then on, will my usage be deducted from my 'free' Gb or my topup Gb? I'd obviously prefer it to be deducted from my 'free' Gb until that is used up and then start taking off my topup Gb. The reason being that my topup Gb carries over, while my 'free' Gb does not.

Does anyone know how this works?

Regardless of the month, your Internet traffic usage will first be consumed from your "free" allocation!

This means that your "top-up" amount will be carried-over month-to-month indefinitely until you have consumed it.

So go ahead and "top-up" your account with as many GB's as you want, because they will remain on your account until the "free" GB's have been used.

It's awesome :)

I have a 1 GB no-contract pre-paid account with WA. At the beginning of every month the usage is automatically reset to 0% and I'm billed R19 for it. I also purchase some top-up GB as I need it during the month. Unused parts of the top-ups are carried forward into the next month. Usage in the new month is drawn first from the no-contract account's 1 GB before the top-up gigs are used.

I expect your situation will be the same as this.

Allow me to raise the following issue using your question as a basis.

Did you consider putting your question to the support desk at WA before posting here? I don't have a problem with anyone posting these sort of questions here, but I think that if you had done so, you would have had a reply by now. Which would you prefer a quick and accurate answer from the people concerned or a drawn out public discussion with answers that must still be confirmed by the ISP?

Thanks, I'll go ahead and buy the topup then.

I have chatted with the WA support staff, during the install, just thought I'd post the question here as the answer might help someone else in the same position.

I'm sure it will. I myself have been helped by the various questions and answers posted by others in these forums and do appreciate the responses from the members.
