Webafrica & Vumatel = disgusting

Ok so I've been with Webafrica for around 3 years now, same package of 1000mb/250mb.
I read in the news that they will now charge customers R999 for any cancellation and they blame Vumatel for this. (I double checked and yes it is in their T&Cs) I also see on their website that the 1000mb/250mb line is R1,099pm yet I am being charged R1,500?

• Does anyone know if the R999 is legal as that wasn't part of the terms and conditions I signed up to all those years ago. I mean what stops them from saying the cancellation fee is now R1m.

• And why I am being charged R1,500 for a service which they advertise on their website for R1,099? And no it's not a "special for new customers for 1 month etc etc"

I had the same about 2 months ago,was paying almost R1000 for a 50/50 connection. Saw on the site that a 50/50 costs R635 or something like that, so I requested a line speed change, chose the 50/50 again and the next month I paid R635 for my connection. Although that was before the R999 downgrade/cancellation fee BS

I've just tried that, it won't allow me to... think I'm going to just downgrade to the 500/200 line for R999. Still saves me R500 a month.
