Webafrica has decided to redefine all their Openserve packages to avoid having to upgrade existing customers for free (or reduce the amount charged if the customer opts to stay on the same package).

The only available options are 25/10, 50/10, 100/20 and 200/40. If you want to keep your 50mbps/100mbps upload speed, you have to stay on your current package, and pay far more than at other ISPs.

@WebAfrica Helper Please can we get an official comment on the above? Seems really dodgy to me.

When I move house, I'm cancelling my WA service and going to another ISP, as the above is unacceptable.

Oh wow, they won't let me cancel without paying a fee until I return their router to them but I never received a router from them. The line was also installed over a year ago.

Avoid this scam operation at all costs!

I am also quite upset with this but decided to not even waste my energy and query this with them... I am now paying R198/month more for a 25Mb line compared to other ISP's. I am moving house soon and will be cancelling with WA and move to another ISP.

I am just irate at their after sales and support. Their WhatsApp line keeps on redirecting me to a new agent.
No one can answer why I had the free Openserve upgrade a week and a half ago and than reverted me back to the standard pre-upgrade package. No manager wants to call me back either.

This is definitely the worst support I have ever experienced from them since I signed up for services from them in 2018.

@WebAfrica Helper - Are you not interested in helping us and keeping your customers?
