Webafrica's plans for Mweb

Five years ago, Webafrica was for sale and its shareholders ready to walk away from the business.

Fast forward to 2023 and the company has not been acquired but instead did the acquiring — buying Mweb and becoming one of the largest Internet service providers in South Africa.

So what was the plan?

I wouldn't touch any of the two... Too many bad experiences costing lots and lots of money

Two companies that one can only ask if they survived by sheer luck, because it certainly doesn't seem like anything else.

Would avoid them as far as humanly possible.

So what was the plan?
I suspect the plan was to combine all the truly terrible ISP's who are on the "well we always used XXXX", name brand recognition retention policy (as opposed to the good customer service generates business policy). I still remember the way my service dipped after Mweb bought Netactive in 1999 as a dial up user. Now I wonder what Vox is up to?

"“Mweb is the largest fibre-to-the-home Internet service provider in the market, and it accelerates our growth,” he said."

Is this true?

Would think it will be the giant that is Afrihost/Axxess/Cool Ideas/Home-Connect.

Actual numbers would be interesting.
