Webcam Advice

Hi everyone,

I need to get two webcams, nothing too expensive. These are my options Logitech C200 (R200), Logitech C250 (R360), Logitech C300 (R420), Microsoft NX2000 (R300).

Has anyone had any experience with any of these? I have googled and watched some YouTube vids but there is actually not a lot of information out there. So far it looks like the C300 is the way to go, but it is more pricey especially if you are buying two of them. I really like the NX2000 but it seems like the audio is not good quality.

Typically, these will be used for Skype in the Evenings (So unnatural light).

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

What Internet/line have you got? Be warned, the C300 can use up to 40KB/s upstream. Although the quality is good.

Unfortunately Logitech has no software to adjust the quality of the webcam - it works according to how fast your line is...

Ah! I never thought about that. Both are 384 connections, I guess the C300 would not be suitable then.

Yeah, go for the C200 or C250. C250 may have better quality but the main difference is that it takes photos at 1.3MP, where the C200 doesn't. Both are 640x480 for video. So if you don't need 1.3MP photos then perhaps go with the C200.

You might also consider the Genius iSlim 2020AF.

This unit is Linux compatible, which is the reason I went for it, and it also works great on Windows XP & 7.

Downside is it's +/- R450
