So my mom has this canyon webcam. It works perect on her home laptop, but not on her work pc. When you install it on the work pc, it just gives a code 39, something like "windows cannot start this device". I was there 2 weeks ago, so I cant remember the exact words. Bottom line is, it's something to do with the driver. So I downloaded the driver from the net, uninstalled it, reinstalled it, I even got this "fixit" thing of microsoft to fix it, but that didn't work too. What can I try to get this right? The home laptop runs vista, and work pc xp, dunno the service pack version. It all worked fine till about 2 months ago.

Pls tell me what to do?

So I guess no one knows how to fix this. But I just thought of something else. If I uninstall the webcam driver, how can I be sure it is completely removed? Are there files or stuff I can remove manually, or check if it's removed? I just thought that by making sure there is no file left on the system of the previous driver, I can be sure that a new install is actually a new install.

maybe a usb driver problem?
Yes it is a driver problem, all the other devices work fine, printer and screen. Just the webcam. Even if I plug memory stick in the same usb port the webcam goes in, it works. So I guess it is something with the webcam driver itself.

I meant usb port driver - but if everything else usb works, then its probably not that...
