Webcam - does it work internationally?

Hi Forum.

I do not have ADSL in SA, and am thinking of getting it when I come down to SA from Denmark.

With all the port throttling, have any of you tried using a personal webcam over an international connection? (and no not the porn sites!)

I use my DV Cam with a dial up connection, and it works fine with:

Yahoo messenger:
Video Chat - No audio

iChat (ex AIM/AOL):
Audio chat - No Video (without broadband)
iChat video & audio chat is currently Mac to Mac only :-(
