Is it just me or is the websites getting too big, i been browsing for a few minutes this morning, i been to about 10 websites and only looked at the main home page and read the articles i googled.

When i checked how much i used, i used about 40 megs on only 10 -15 websites.
I was just reading, so why is it downlaoding so much?

Even if i went into the same site twice later on, i see my bandwidth going down again after checked what was happening.

That means if i visit 200 websites, my 1 gig cap is finished.
that also means i can only check about 8 websites a day just to make it through the month...its so crazy

Get a bigger cap. Afrihost is only R29 per gig, surely you can afford a few more gigs at that price?

It could be possible...

What website did you visit (do they have large images, video) ? are you running chat software, media streaming in the background?

Was windows or any of your other prgrams doing an update (anti-virus pehaps)?

Just a thought, maybe disable the automatic loading of images.

It's probably the sites. As an example, the news24.com homepage comes in at a 'pretty normal' (for media sites) 1.1MB

There's no way adds will chew up that much. What content was on the web sites - videos, streaming, audio?

If you don't visit any web sites does you usage also increase => malware?
