Well for a while I have been building a few Web Apps over the years for my company using asp.net and more recently silverlight which is very powerful for companies that want fast data based application, I also have done a few websites.

Now i want to do freelance work cause i have lots of spare time and could really do with some extra cash, but where do i advertise myself. I think i build very good looking apps and sites, but when i looking on sites on gumtree there is ads and ads of rubbish.

I've found the best way to get freelance jobs is to meet new people. Also, if people know what you do and how good you are, they are very likely to consider you.

I'd say it starts with assessing needs of others
