I would agree on an indoor grow but not so much outdoor. I feel you are losing a lot of bud, if you were to trim the top colas and wait and then do a second harvest on the lower buds when they are mature I think the yield would be greater. Genetics most probably would also influence your decision. Just look at the attached pics from my B team and you'll see four different "structures" each requiring a different approach.

I'm interested to hear on your guy's feeding schedule of your cannabis plants. I've never seen an in-depth article or post on how much to feed your plants. This is a breakdown of the ingredients of my solution that I use.

MICRO - N 50,3 g/kg– K 16,7 g/kg– Ca 52,7 g/kg – Zn 117,7 mg/kg– Cu 13 mg/kg– Mo 6,5 mg/kg - Fe 957 mg/kg – B 242 mg/kg – Mn 242 mg/kg
GROW - N 22.5 g/kg– P 7.8 g/kg– K 40 g/kg – S 3,3 g/kg - Mg 6,9 g/kg
BLOOM - N 9,9 g/kg – P 25,3 g/kg– K 47,4 g/kg– Mg 12,9 g/kg

So currently in flowering I do per plant per day one litre of water six times a day. The third and sixth watering will contain either Micro or Bloom. The smaller plants are currently on six litres of water per day and the big plants double that. Every fourth day is only water. Basically it comes down to 10ml Micro and 40ml Bloom per day for 16 plants outdoor.

wow- do you water six times a day ? And that must be a fortune of nutes you use ? Why not just use some compost in the soil, maybe some organic fertilizer every now and again. I water my outside plants maybe every two days with my normal hosepipe..

Unfortunately the soil here in Brackenfell is just sand, the plants however is planted in organic compost that were transferred to ground in place. Compost mixed with vermiculite but not enough and it doesn't really hold water like coco would. On the veg cycle I did use kelp mix which is kind of organic but my bloom fertilizer is definitely non-organic. I don't really have a problem with it, cost R130,00 per litre which is 500 litres when mixed. I use a bucket system where I let the water stand for a day before using it and then replenish it once I used one.

Next grow is going to be very different, already preparing a huge amount of soil for next season with hopefully a greenhouse type enclosure for the wind and a water tank drip irrigation system.

Guess I was lucky with my soil. Previous years mealies were buried, so kinda turned to compost. I wonder what its like doing autos in a tunnel / greenhouse over winter ...
 
Just a guess but you would need additional lighting as autos prefer close to 24 hour light in veg. I had three autos this year but they all died so my knowledge is very limited on them.
 
With all my ladies almost in flower I want to start to prepare for curing. I'm estimating at minimum 2 kilos if I decide to process everything and all goes well. I have a large room for the drying, unfortunately I can't control the temperature/humidity in the room. Problem comes in with curing, I only have five glass jars which can handle about 500 grams. One of the cheapest methods I found is using large plastic containers and burping the top every day. I'm looking for ideas or places to procure large food grade plastic containers from here in Cape Town preferably or any ideas for curing on a larger scale.
 
Those nice glass jars are damn expensive - I have heard plastic isnt the way to go - but I suppose better than nothing. I ordered glass jars on takealot - think was like R20 for a 500ml - Consol - but they have that twist top.
Tried to use an old pickle jar, but now that weed smells like pickles.
 
Actually my jars were like R20 each from Crazy Store or Pep years ago, they have a nice rubber lining as a seal. Wish I had more. The Consol factory is actually close by but still too expensive. You can sterilize your jars in a pressure cooker to get rid of the smell and all other nasties. The CVault looks perfect anyone familiar with it?
 
Maybe try a Westpack. They have heaps of storage vessels glass and plastic.

You could also try some Mirco Brewery supply stores. They will have larger food grade storage for fermentation or Yeast Starters.
 
I don't think we have a Westpack here unfortunately.

The CVault actually looks perfect for me and I see Vapestore carries them but boy are they expensive.

Your curing process seems kinda odd. You open the jar once a day for the first three weeks, then once a week after and put in a boveda pack, or you can even put the pack in at the start.

The photos arent very clear but I dont see sac's that indicate a male yet. They would typically grow in the middle of the V between Stem and Offshoot. Not part of the actual offshoot.
