'lo all,

i need to come up with a destination somewhere in SA for a weekend away with the new girlfriend. i have absolutely no idea where to go, accommodation etc. i am willing to through a few grand at it, flights etc.

any ideas? :confused:

get down to the south coast in Durban. Weather is fantastic at the moment.
 
How many grand, and what degree of luxury are you looking for? Coz we can start with caravan parks, right through to 5-star hotels.

I can give idea's, just easier to give good ones, with more info.
 
Romantic getaway or somewhere where there are activities to do as well?

Around R10K from Friday afternoon till Sunday evening.
 
R10k on a weekend away with your new gf? Good luck dude, after setting the bar that high there's no downsizing :D

Where about are you based? I'd recommend somewhere closer to home, and save the more extravagant trips for anniversaries and the like.
 
That's a lot to spend on such a short time away. There are some gems spread out around +-3 hours from Johannesburg, some of them 4 stars and the whole weekend will cost you less than half that, including petrol, food and sleep.
 
It's his 10k, and he can spend it how he see's fit.

He asked for suggestions, not permission.
 
Thanks all, update: got a travel agent who sorted me out with a trip down to Knysna from JHB incl. accommodation for R6500. Awesome!
