WeFix Batteries

Replaced my 2011 11" Air's battery at WeFix about a year ago. The replacement was the same battery in every way down to the manufacturer. Problem is, the battery isn't fresh (manufactured back around 2011), but it did only have 2 charge cycles and appeared to work well. I sold the machine soon afterwards and haven't heard back from the buyer.

Took my iphone 4 in for a battery replacement. Got it back and tested it by charging it to 100% and than left it on standby mode with the screen off and phone locked only had wifi on. This I did at 22:00 20/11/2017, on 21/11/2017 at 08:19 the batt power level was at 87%. On a side note, I had to take the phone back as the technician noted that the rear camera was faulty. I had only requested a battery replacement as there was no other fault with the phone. They claim they emailed and phoned me. I stated that my phone could have been off at the time the phoned me but why was a voice note not left? Also the email to state that camera was faulty was no where to be found by them. I returned to the store (WeFix, cavendish) at 09:00 on the 21/11/2017, but the technician only started at 11:00 so I hung around the mall till then. After having a few back and fourth discussions with him and the manager they agreed to replace the no faulty camera and monitor the battery while they have it in store. I’m due to pick it up on Thursday, 23/11/2017. Will post again after that.

Picked up my iphone4, camera is worst off than before. Out of focus and flash also inop. Plus side is the batt seems fine.

Oh and in good faith, they will only charge me labour on fixing my camera that they broke. If and when they can find a 2nd one.

Thanx Wefix Cavendish.

I keep telling people WeFix is sub standard but nobody seems to listen until after they've gotten the same bad experience.

Apple Doctor all the way.

Or even better DIY.

Got f#cked by both WeFix and Apple Doctor

WeFix crapped on my Hey Siri mic when replacing screen while Apple Doctor f#cked my screen into having a darker shade when they were replacing a screen

What do you mean darker shade?

You can’t make a screen really do anything differently than the way it was built.

And you’d of course see a difference in colour and such from a different screen.

At apple doctor Maitland now, getting my wife’s iphone 5s’ battery replaced. Hoping for a good result .

About R399 or so, not more. Will get the exact price as soon as I pick up the device.

You can't get hold of an OEM battery unless you take it to a real Apple store. Anyone can tell you anything - WeFix, Apple Doctor, Bid or Buy, eBay whatever...

Thanks. That's very reasonable. How was their workmanship?

Workmanship looks ok, doesn’t look like the phone was opened.

Will monitor the batt during the week to see.

On their website it says that you will receive a free gift worth R250 for all iPhoneIMG_0336.jpg repairs. Since batt replacement is a form of repair they gave me a car air vent magnet holder.

They also returned my wife’s phone in a small, cute cardboard box. Phone was wrapped in bubble wrap.

I think its the small things that count, I’ll definitely go back there after my horrid experience with Wefix, Cavendish.

Before the battery replacement, did your wifes 5s have iOS11 on it and did the new battery improve the speed of the phone? A friend with a 5s is experiencing terrible speeds on iOS11, but not sure if a battery replacement will fix it.

She was/is on IOS 11 but had no issues with speed.
Her battery capacity was just very low, would normally not last more than 4hrs after a full charge.
Apple stated that the 5/5s/5c was not effected by any slow down factor associated with a older battery.

I know 2 people now with speed issues on iOS11, one with a 5s and the other with a 6, with both of them just replacing the battery just to see if the problem goes away isn't really a option.

Do they have battery capacity issues?
