Weight Loss Thread 2014

So back at gym last night after a week of absence - work obligations.
Lost another kg.
So in total that is 5kg lost.

I never took my measurements before I started with NCNS lifestyle, which is a pity.
I can feel that my clothes are looser, a lot.
Had to use another notch in the belt.

So for those on the LCHF plan, what do you do for sugar in your coffee replacement?

I would suggest dropping to zero immediately. You'll take a few days to get used to it, but eventually coffee with any sweetener will taste gross.

*Added bonus - Your coffee will taste like coffee! :D

Today I cleared out my cupboard. After getting rid of the clothes that are way too big I am left with around 3 pairs of shorts, 6 t-shirts and 3 pairs of long pants (some shirts still fit even though they are a bit big). Losing weight is expensive!!!

Agree with this. I reckon taking those pills just makes you want sweetness, and eventually you're going to give it some.

It took me longer than a few days to get used to it though, but now I'm enjoying both my tea and coffee more than when I was just using them to load up with sugar.

Great problem to have ;)

I'm just wearing the big shirts, and letting them flap. But I am wearing a pair of pants today that I last fitted into about three years ago.

I was a fat bastard for many years and as such have no old clothes that used to fit. I am however getting close to being able to 'borrow' some of my sons clothes. ;)

Grr, tapatalk didn't post my reply.

Basically it's been 5 months and I've lost 18kgs. I've gone from 105 to 87 kgs as of this morning (42 waist to a 36). I have to be honest though as I do not follow Tim Noakes to the letter. I still have my occasional beer, pizza, sushi, curry and rice etc. but I regard them as treats now and not part of my staple diet.

I was very strict for the first 3 months or so but that was to get rid of my cravings for wheat and sugar. I can now sit at work with my mates and they'll all be drinking a coke or some other soda and it will not bother me anymore. The same goes for the cakes and puddings that are always available in our dining hall.

That's great progress - well done! Very interesting to see that you were able to "treat" every now and again

Ta Flash, I must say I am really happy as I have tried many different diets and lifestyle changes over the years and this one has been the most successful and easiest to switch to. What really impressed me was that I have not increased my exercise other than I have more energy at work and am out and about (plenty of stairs and walking around). No gym, running or anything strenuous in the past 5 months.

The most expensive part is the bicycle (oh and nuts, nuts are flipping expensive!) I am going to pick up in the next day or two as I want to boost the fitness side of my personal health now. :p

Tomorrow is beer and braai but moderation will be exercised in the form of meat and lots of salads and the 'treat' will be the beer! :D

Managed to dip under 96 kg this morning, only 2 kg to go
