Weight Loss Thread 2014

Nicely done. What's your starting and goal weight? If you don't mind me asking.

Started at 98kg, goal around 80kg then want to train (boxing) so maybe muscle up a little from 80kg. Don't want to be 'muscle top' big just lean with some definition. I'm tallish (6'1") and I think lean with a little bit of muscle looks good so I guess that's what I'd ideally like to get to with some work.

Anyone got some idea of much of that 3,9kg was water?

Baked that bread. Came out delicious! It does not rise as much as I thought. Will have to either increase the dough recipe or get a shorter bread pan.

I tweaked mine in the following way;
4 whole eggs instead of 2 and 5 egg whites
1 tablespoon instead of teaspoon baking powder
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tbsp cinnamon
60g whey protein vanilla

Not as fluffy as bread obviously, was kinda cake like texture as noted before by others. Damn nice toasted must say. Will make again and play with other ingredients. Happy to have bacon and eggs on toast again...with butter :D

I don't think I can use my whey for cooking :(

Guys who made the bread from RMR, which seeds did you get, the golden or the brown flax? Is there a difference?

I used the brown seeds in my tweaked recipe. Quick 30 seconds in blender turned it to dust quite easily :D

As for difference...none.

Flaxseed Types
Most grocery stores do sell packaged flaxseed on their shelves, but natural foods stores tend to also offer sell flaxseeds in bulk form too. There are two "types" of flaxseed: brown and golden. Although the color and price differ, the nutritional benefits are the same. The brown flaxseed is less expensive than the golden, but because golden flaxseed is lighter in color, it’s easier to hide in a variety of foods.

I got brown because that's what the lady at the health shop gave me when I asked for flax seeds. I don't think there'll be too much of a difference, if any.
