It's fine. I'm going to order another four bottles of brain octane MCT to spite you!

Two months in and my total is 28.1kg's off. I never thought I'd be this fit and healthy again to be very honest and the best part is - I love eating what I eat now. It's win win![]()
This MCT story. I was thinking about this and I think I'm missing something.
MCT oils are popular with keto dieters because they (the oils not the dieters) are metabolized directly to β-hydroxybutyrate ketones (right?).
Ketoacidosis is a dangerous condition that occurs when the body cannot regulate β-hydroxybutyrate production as it should (right?).
If someone is forcing extra β-hydroxybutyrate production with MCT oil how can or does the body regulate it? (increased insulin? wouldn't that bring its own problems?)
What are the benefits of "deep" ketosis compared to regular ketosis? is ketosis not all or nothing for the body? (is there such a thing as "deep" ketosis or only increased ketone production?)
Thanks. If I'm not mistaken then ketoacidosis is only a concern for those with impaired insulin production.
(and yeah I've already encountered someone who started ranting about how dangerous ketosis is as soon as I mentioned it, obviously confusing it with ketoacidosis. I've read similar confusion in some nutrition and related books, not recent books, but makes me wonder if ketosis got this bad rap because of some ignoramus's confusion back in the 70s or 80s or something)
I haven't had chance to read through the whole thing but it does indicate that there may be some dangers in terms of excessive coconut oil/MCT consumption, however I still need to validate his evidence

What does coconut oil taste like in BP coffee?
OK, so confession time.
When I first made the RMR bread, I didn't really pay attention to this part:
2 cups milled flax seed
I instead took two cups of flax seed, milled those, and baked the bread with it. Just before I made my second loaf a while ago, I looked at it again, paused, then wondered why there wasn't any clarification.. My dry ingredients were already mixed, so I just ended up adding more egg and more water.
The milled flax seed occupies a lot more volume than the seed, and while I really enjoyed the bread the last time I made it, I wondered why mine was so dense while the picture made their version seem so fluffy.
2nd loaf is in the oven now, will see what's what.
There's always MCT Oil powder :wtf:

DAmnit...you make a very valid point! I also used two cups and just milled that down...

Looking forward to your result!
