Weight Loss Thread 2014

On a side note...been pretty much carb free for the last two weeks...

Cut out the oat breakfast and my pre workout carb meal...

It was hell the first week...but into the second week I actually feel pretty damn good and still making some great strength gains - broke the 160kg squat barrier and I'm 94kg at present.

So while I still personally believe there is a place for certain carbs - ala oats, sweet potato etc - they are not a must in the daily scheme of things. I do however still take 60g of dextrose (cain sugar basically) post workout to spike insulin to drive nutrients back to my muscles as insulin is crazy anabolic as well.

So all in this was a successful personal experiment. Will just have to work in a good balanced refeed to up depleted leptin every 10 odd days.

Been reading up on bulletproof coffee. Quite keen to try it. By the sounds of it, it is 2 tbs of butter, 2 tbs mct and coffee? Does anyone here have it for breakfast?

Some do indeed Paddy.

I'll stick to eggs and chicken done in butter and or coconut oil thank you ;D

That's what I've been having every morning but sometimes I have to force it down. We have awesome coffee at work so would be nice to mix it up from time to time.

Has anyone covered how to cleanse lipid cells in a timely manner?

I have no need to lose weight but id like to cleanse my fatty tissue from all the undesirables!!!

I know that an increase in bile production along with high fiber meals aids in the cells 'rejuvenation' lecithin helps and vitamin B5 but it takes long.

if i stay away from fatty foods, if i am not mistaken my body will reserve what fat i have and it will take longer to get the fat cleansed?

I've seen some strange posts in this thread, but this one takes the cake

I have heard many times that avoiding fats will cause you to retain them in your system.

he's coming off a basis of twaddle...

I mean cleansing lipid cells, really!!!!!

I hate pseudoscience
Yeah look I dont agree with anything else from it, just the body retaining fat.
Its like the supposed detox diets etc. Its been proven that detoxing can only happen naturally and eating a healthy diet while consuming plenty of water is what aids that.

Haha, are you a clone of me? I completely agree 100%.

Except that cane sugar is sucrose. I also use dextrose ~ no fructose, unlike sucrose.

I have it every day, although I have it with green tea when I can't find good coffee.

Bad quality coffee gives me joint pains and I'm having one hell of a time finding anything decent. The last batch of woolworths organic is causing me trouble. I've just ordered a bunch of other damn expensive brands, waiting for delivery still.

I get all my coffee from The Green Bean

My healthmatrix MCT arrived today. Product of the philippines.

Awaiting your review on this.

That you got it so soon is already a +1 for the site.

Hope the quality is good!

Also waiting for a review of the HealthMatrix MCT Oil.
I have ordered mine from Feel Healthy purely because it was the same price (R125), but they have a wider selection of products in their store. I also ordered coconut oil, chia seeds, flaxsseed, etc. Delivery is R25 anywhere in the country.

Guys... for those of you buying MCT, PLEASE start off SLOWLY. Start with one teaspoon working your way up. C8 & C10 together are not very kind on the digestive tract and you will end up with "DISASTER PANTS" as bulletproof exec warns.

And seriously, they call it "DISASTER PANTS" for a reason. You feel fine, and then SUDDENLY, out of NOWHERE, you have a nuclear explosion with no warning.

For me I hit DP at 2-3 tablespoons of a C8/C10 mix. C8 on it's own has less digestive effects.
