Weight Loss Thread 2014

I wish my wife would look like that. Sigh. :) With me changing eating habits the last few weeks, even she has lost a few kg's and is in need of new clothes.

Anyway, I will chat to one of the personal trainers at the gym and start including weight and resistance training.

Thanks

I could have been called an alcoholic, in all seriousness (booked myself into bloody rehab some time ago, in fact). It's verging on the miraculous, this diet...

That's brilliant!

I believe this is psychological. I have also found that I'm more even tempered in general and I'm self medicating far less across the board.

I'm a recovering assoholic and I wonder if my foul tempered previous self could have been in some part due to being in a constant state of sugar crash... Anyway, good on you Copa, booze will kill you.

My MCT oil arrived from HealthMatrix.co.za, ordered it on Thursday... speedy service. :D The delivery note is from Absolute Organix though... same company?

I do not believe the lack of cravings for alcohol on a low carb diet are psychological. There is definitely something going on at a physical level. Both copa and I have tried a million things to curb the cravings before. When I am low carb I simple just don't feel like drinking.

AA = zero
Rational Recovery = zero
Psychological counseling = zero
Pharmacological extinction with naltrexone = zero
Low carb = WIN

I'm even now able to go out, and drink, and then get back on my diet and not end up in a vicious cycle like I used to.

Maybe it was in my case... Maybe not.

Either away, it's absolutely brilliant. Reading your post was quite moving to be honest. Thank you for sharing.

Do you guys exercise before or after meals... And how long before/after depending on the first answer.

Before for me ........ Most days all I have is coffee until lunch time, then I workout for 90mins and then grab a snacky type of lunch.

Before. If I eat too soon before working out I feel like I'm going to throw up. It probably comes at an expense of some strength while training but I'd rather have that than having to stop because I'm feeling like ****.

Depends on my meal size...if I have a smallish lunch, then I'll have something about an hour before training. Big lunch, I can power through.

I did not have anything at home to make lunch for today :/ Anyone have ideas for something I can buy that would still be LCHF? Really dont want to cheat today (since Sunday was already bad due to a family celebration).

Nando's vitality meal? Or chicken salad.

Try your local Spar or Pick 'n Pay.

Ours sell grilled chicken breasts. I usually just have that with a chunk of cheese melted over it in the microwave at work.

I have also once or twice ordered a King Steer burger only and then eat only the patties.

Cheese and salami.
